When I read it, I immediately thought it wasn’t true. I thought maybe it only stopped working every now and then for me, that it only loaded pages slowly for me. But if it often happened to you too, know that it is true: Internet Explorer, despite everything, is still the most used browser<\/strong> (and not just for downloading other browsers).<\/p>\n

The share of internet surfers relying on Explorer is continuously decreasing, but nostalgic lovers of this browser hold on and, to this day, still keep it at the top.<\/p>\n

However, this position is destined to last for a short time; on one hand, Windows 10 has paved the way for its retirement by introducing the younger and more efficient Edge<\/strong>, and on the other hand, there is Chrome<\/strong>, the closest competitor to matching Internet Explorer’s results.<\/p>\n

In just 7 years since its inception, Chrome is now close to reaching Explorer’s numbers and, although it hasn’t yet, unlike the leader, the number of users who use it is constantly increasing. As shown by the graphs based on March 2016 data from NetMarketShare<\/a>, Chrome’s market share is 39.09%, just over 3 percentage points below Explorer, but it is evident that the two curves<\/strong>, respectively ascending and descending, are destined to intersect very soon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Microsoft will thus have to contend with a young browser that, in a very short time, has almost matched its historic one.<\/p>\n
