Facebook: test for a new News Feed

Facebook is increasingly becoming a source of news and information. To attract more users for this purpose and improve access to updates, it is testing a new feature that organizes the News Feed by topics.

In the mobile version, the left side will display the “Topics” section, containing categories such as Health & Wellness, Sports, Travel, Fashion, and more.

This is a way to better understand users; initially, Facebook will ask them to select their most relevant interests and topics, allowing for a personalized News Feed based on their preferences.

Alongside these News Feed updates, Facebook is also testing new shopping features. In these trials, the Messenger icon in the mobile app has been replaced with the Marketplace function, enabling users to quickly access a commercial page featuring products sold by the pages they have liked.

For now, the topic-based News Feed remains just a test, and it is uncertain if or when it will become available for mobile devices.
